Re:mote Girls - Kurogane

Kurogane is Japanese for Iron. Kurogane is used in referring to Iron as a ship. Ferris is latin word for Iron. Ferris is used in referring Iron as a person ie. ship computer.

Kurogane proper was a refitted Federation automatic transport bought by the Ambassador. It was retrofitted as a large scale construction frame for an observational asteroid base project. Not as big as Macross SDF, more on the size of Macross Quarter from Macross Frontier (400M).

Ferris personality is something like Marvin the Paranoid Robot from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy since all Ferris has done is transport things across space. While Ferris has the same basic frame as the Re:mote Girls, he can't really go places like the girls can.

As the story goes on people end up on Kurogane which Ferris has trouble comprehending.
