Moretsu Pirates
Marika is a first year high school student living in a far away galaxy known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her recently deceased father was once the captain of the space pirate ship called the Bentenmaru. More importantly, the only one to inherit the captain's title has to be a direct descendant - meaning that Marika is next in line to become the captain of the ship!

You can't really go wrong with Space Pirates.

Unlike most first episdes, this one enables you to feel at pace with what's happening, instead of the usual feelig of being lost. It's humour is great with an epic cafe' scene at the end there, and appears as though it will be an anime seris on par (perhaps just below...) that of Fairy Tail's entertainment/enjoyment level. Will be watching this series to it's end!

High school of space pirates? Ca't beat the CG'd elements though we haven't even seen the ship other than short glimpsts in the opening. I would have to see how the second episode develops before passing judgement.

Ordinarily, I'm not much into waitresses, or schoolgirls, although it helps a little if the waitress is also a schoolgirl. But there are a few things that make me sit up and take notice, and right near the top of the list (just above glasses, and right below a fairly short miniskirt) is telling the girl she's going to be a space pirate. So I definitely want to see how this series plays out.

starting out with a slice-of-life episode for the opener of a pirate anime is an interesting touch. looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here.
