Second-year high school student Yatora Yaguchi is bored with his normal life. He studies well and plays around with his friends, but in truth, he does not enjoy either of those activities. Bound by norms, he secretly envies those who do things differently. That is until he discovers the joy of drawing. When he sees a painting made by a member of the Art Club, Yatora becomes fascinated with the colors used in it. Later, in an art exercise, he tries to convey his language without words but instead through painting. After that experience, Yatora finds himself so invested in art that he decides that it is what he wants to do for a living. But there stand multiple obstacles in his way: his parents who are hesitant over his unique choices, his more experienced peers, and the study of a subject much deeper than he initially expected.

Yatora Yaguchi, lycéen de deuxième année, s'ennuie de sa vie normale. Il étudie bien et joue avec ses amis, mais en vérité, il n'apprécie aucune de ces activités. Lié par des normes, il envie secrètement ceux qui font les choses différemment. C'est jusqu'à ce qu'il découvre le plaisir de dessiner. Lorsqu'il voit une peinture réalisée par un membre de l'Art Club, Yatora devient fasciné par les couleurs qui y sont utilisées. Plus tard, dans un exercice d'art, il essaie de transmettre son langage sans mots mais à travers la peinture. Après cette expérience, Yatora se retrouve tellement investi dans l'art qu'il décide que c'est ce qu'il veut faire dans la vie. Mais plusieurs obstacles se dressent sur son chemin : ses parents qui hésitent sur ses choix uniques, ses pairs plus expérimentés et l'étude d'un sujet beaucoup plus profond qu'il ne l'avait initialement prévu.
